The team at Sage Roofing South West is headed up by the founder and namesake, Justin Sage. In his early life, Justin was never a fan of sitting at a desk and always knew he needed more of ‘hands-on’ job. At the tender age of 16, he decided to pursue a career in roofing and secured a place at college.

Following his successful college training, he subsequently landed an apprenticeship with a large, local roofing company. Over the next few years he gained invaluable knowledge and experience, becoming well known for his commitment and ability. His passion for delivering high standards of work and first class customer service were evident early on and gave him the desire to start his own business. He eventually branched out in 2002 and began trading as Sage Roofing.

The rest, as they say, is history. Justin now heads up an expanding team who are all made aware of his exacting standards and passion for excellence.

How we like to work

Whilst we understand there is sometimes a misconception that all tradesmen within the construction industry are ‘rip-off merchants’ or ‘cowboys’, rest assured, Justin and his team are anything but.

No guesstimates will be provided without us visiting the property first and we’ll never advise you to have work done if it’s not necessary. After your initial contact with us, we will have an idea of the potential issues but will not presume anything. Justin will then arrange a convenient time to meet you, assess the problem and follow up with a detailed quote. We are completely transparent and will never hide any extra costs that suddenly rear their ugly heads on the invoice.

From time-to-time, after we’ve started a job, we may uncover a problem we weren’t expecting which can subsequently require additional materials and work from us. However, if this is the case, we will discuss all options with you at the time, ensure all extra work is agreed and detail it on your invoice.

Our growing number of positive, glowing online reviews and recommendations are testament to the hard work and customer service that goes into the business and hopefully illustrates what we’re all about. Trust, quality, honesty and professionalism.

Although we are happy to venture out of Bristol, the majority of our work is primarily within Bristol and South Gloucestershire

How we like to do business

We may only be a small, local company but we like to do things properly. Here’s a snapshot of how we operate – all aimed at ensuring everyone involved is safe and the work is carried out to the highest of standards.

We’re a friendly, approachable team

We understand that it can be deemed a risk asking tradespeople to work on your house and can leave you feeling a little anxious, especially if you live on your own. At Sage Roofing SW, all of our team are friendly, approachable and respectful of being in or on your property. We’ve normally got a smile on our faces too, as we love what we do.

We’re totally transparent

That means there’s no hidden costs, no hidden agenda and no nasty surprises after the work is completed. From start to finish, we are honest and upfront about all costs and work involved, all of which is detailed on a personalised quote. If anything does rear it’s ugly head as we’re working on a job, we will discuss the situation and any extra work/costs with you.

Safety is key

The majority of work requires scaffolding to be erected in order for us to reach the roof safely.  For smaller jobs, the cost of scaffolding can account for a significant amount of the overall cost of the job and some people have asked if we can use a ladder instead (thus reducing the cost). Unfortunately, the answer is a resounding no as, at no point should the safety of the workers be compromised.

We don’t cut corners

Our commitment to providing high standards, however big or small the job, is second to none. Cutting corners to try and save money or time is not in our interest, or yours. With Sage Roofing SW, you can be rest assured that you’ll get the job done properly and exactly as outlined in the quote.

We’re clean and considerate

There’s many nightmare stories out there of tradespeople being messy workers and finishing the job without clearing up after themselves. We could not be more different.  As detailed in each quote, we will always remove all waste and clean down the work areas before the job is  officially completed.

We love a good cup of tea!

Whilst we’re happy in our work and remain considerate and hard working when at your property, it’s always nice to receive a lovely cup of tea! We don’t ask for much, but when we need a break, if you happen to be around and offer us a cuppa, we’ll never turn you down!
