Installing or repairing flat roofs demands a slightly different skill set to pitched roofing. As a result, not all general roofers are able to competently tackle a flat roof. At Sage Roofing South West, we have flat roof specialists who are extremely experienced in this field and have been providing a quality and professional service for many years.

Flat roofs or low pitched roofs generally have a limited life span. They are  notorious for leaks and degradation over time, especially in extreme weather conditions. Depending on the severity of the damage, there are two main solutions to the problem:

  • Small leaks or damage: A simple patch repair using GRP or torch on felt is the most common solution..
  • More serious damage: It’s usually necessary to remove the entire flat roof covering as well as the timber decking. From here, we then carry out the new installation as required.

GRP flat roofing

GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) is the technical name for what is commonly known as fibreglass. It is extremely versatile, lightweight, strong and waterproof and has a lifespan of over 50 years.

The GRP process ensures that your roof is entirely sealed with no joints, therefore eliminating even the smallest drop of water from making its way through. All of these combined factors provide you with a long lasting, low maintenance and cost-effective solution for your flat roof when fitted correctly and competently.

A GRP roof is suitable for a number of areas on a  property, such as garages, porches, extensions, shop roofs, dormers and bay windows.
